I. Purpose

To carry out Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Promotion Law of People's Republic of China, build a platform of ¡°Display, Trade, Communication and Cooperation¡± for SMEs, enhance cooperation among SMEs of Chinese and other countries/regions, and promote healthy development of Chinese SMEs.

To increase understanding, strengthen cooperation, enlarge communication and seek common development.

IV. Name

The 3rd China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF)

V. Date, Venue and Scale

Date: September 15-18, 2006

Venue: Guangzhou International Exposition Center (China Export Commodities Fair Pazhou Complex)

Scale: The 120,000-square-meter exhibition hall contains 4,000 booths. The exhibition hall is divided into 9 industrial areas, which include textile and clothing, shoes, caps, and trunks, toys and craftwork, foods and drugs, household electric appliance, electronics, mechanical equipment, furniture and lamps, ceramics and building materials, and special areas: SMEs Service Industry Exhibition Area and International Exhibition Area.

 

VI. Major Events

1. SME products and technology display, talks and trade

Attended by SMEs from China and overseas, the Fair will fully display the distinctive features of SMEs products and techonologies. In addition to promoting dealing, it serves as an all-around service platform for SMEs.

 

2. Summit Forum on SMEs

Attended by senior officials, renowned specialists and scholars, delegates from SMEs, chamber of commerce and associations, the Forum focuses on policies and measures taken by governments to support SMEs, as well as legal guarantee, policy support, management and service for facilitating cooperation among SMEs of Chinese and other countries/regions.

 

3. Promotions for SMEs Cooperation Projects

A certain number of SMEs with intended projects to make trading, investment, as well as economic and technological cooperation will be organized, in the form of business promotions and exchange of visits. The purpose is to facilitate successful cooperation for a number of projects.

 

4. Fair on SMEs Financing

Attended by banking and securities regulators and venture investors, the Fair gives a platform for communications, focusing on SMEs financing, credit guarantee, as well as the trends of SMEs financing and venture investment. It provides market opportunities and cooperative channels for SMEs.

 

5. SMEs Procurement Briefing

In the Briefing, large procurement groups from China and overseas, United Nations procurement agency as well as Chinese government procurement agencies at the state and provincial levels will respectively give briefings on procurement requirements and procedures. The Briefing is expected to produce business opportunities and establish cooperative channels.

 

6. Special Trainings for SMEs

Topics of trainings and lectures include: national industrial policies, macro economic situation, import and export policies, quality, technological and environmental protection standards.
