Almost half of the 2,000 enterprises exhibiting at the First China Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CSMEF) are from Guangdong, more evidence of the province's leading position in SME development.

"More than 70 enterprises from Shenzhen attended the exhibition, and the fair is very helpful to those that want to seek business opportunities," said a woman from the Shenzhen Association for SME Promotion.

Dongguan, a world-famous manufacturing base, sent a large delegation to the fair.

The Qisheng Electronics Co., Ltd exhibited a wide variety of DVD players and hi-fi speakers.

Many enterprises from Zhongshan, another important industrial city in the Pearl River Delta, also attracted many visitors.

Frank Pan, a staff member from the Zhonghan Jinglong Electronic Appliance Co., Ltd, a firm specializing in quality interior energy-saving lamps, was too busy handing out advertising material to respond to visitors' questions.

Other cities in Guangdong also sent large delegations to the fair.
