China is planning to launch a Small and Medium Enterprises Fair in Guangzhou, the capital of South China's Guangdong Province, next month to provide a platform for its SMEs to enter the international market.
Officials say more than 1,200 SMEs, universities, scientific and research institutes and investment and financial institutions in the country have enrolled for the fair.
Business organizations from the United States, Japan, Britain, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macao have also made active responses to the invitations.
Besides a product show, a summit with the theme of "21st century -- the century of SME" as well as a SME financing forum and training sessions for SMEs will also be held.
The fair, scheduled to begin on October 18, is staged at the same time as two other large-scale export commodity fairs in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, which will draw a large number of guests from overseas.
