On 30th January, the organizing committee secretariat of the 5th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair had a briefing on the Hall for ASEM SMEs Cooperation and Exchange in Beijing,so as to keep the promise in Beijing Declaration on Strengthening Cooperation among ASEM Members on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the First ASEM SMEs Ministerial Meeting.

The briefing was hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), one of the co-sponsors of CISMEF, and Guangdong Economic and Trade Commission, and was attended by 19 embassies of ASEM members ---- Delegation of European Union,Embassy of Brunei Darussalam, Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria,Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus, Embassy of the Czech Republic,Royal Danish Embassy, Embassy of France, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germeny,Embassy of the Republic of Italy, Embassy of the Republic of India, Embassy of Japan, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Embassy of the Lao People’s Democretic Republic, Embassy of Malaysia, Embassy of the Republic of Malta, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Embassy of the Republic of Portugal, Embassy of Romania, Royal Thai Embassy.

The 5th CISMEF will set up a Hall for ASEM SMEs Cooperation and Exchange, which is approximately 10,000 square meters, with about 500 standard booths (9 sqm for each). Each ASEM member will be provided with 10 free booths in the Hall for ASEM SMEs Cooperation and Exchange. The free booths can be given not only to SMEs, but also to governmental organizations, chambers of commerce, associations or organizations rendering services to SMEs. Exhibiting objects in the free booths can not only be products, technologies, services or cooperation projects of SMEs, but also be the investment environments, and policies, measures or successful cases of supporting SMEs’ development.
