The Provincial Mobilization Meeting regarding the Preparation by Guangdong Province of the 6th CISMEF Was Held in Guangzhou City

On May 15th, 2009, the provincial mobilization meeting regarding the preparation by Guangdong Province of the 6th China International Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Fair & China-Spain SMEs Fair (CISMEF) was held in Guangzhou City. Mr. Wu Feng, Vice Director of Guangdong Economic and Trade Commission & Vide Director of the Provincial Preparation Commission Office, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Over 100 persons include the leaders in charge and contact persons from individual economic and trade bureaus (trade and industry bureaus), SME bureaus (private enterprises development bureaus), relevant industrial associations and relevant organizations in Guangdong Province and individual persons in charge of their BUs under the Provincial Preparation Commission Office were present at the meeting.

Mr. Wu Feng delivered his speech starting with summary of the 5th CISMEF works, reported the preparation situations of the 6th CISMEF, and deployed next preparation works. Individual cities were required to further exercise and implement individual preparation works by strengthening leadership, giving priority, combining with their actual situations, meticulously planning and thoroughly deploying works, to ensure that the 6th CISMEF is successful. A decision made by Guangdong Economic and Trade Commission to award those advanced collectives and individuals who contributed to the 5th CISMEF was declared in the meeting. The winning organizations were presented the medals in the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the present representatives raised their opinions and suggestions for the preparation works of the 6th CISMEF.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Yang Yang, Director of the Bureau of CISMEF & Director of the Overseas Exhibition and Investment Promotion Department under the Provincial Preparation Commission Office. Mr. Wu Dongpeng, Vice Director of the Reception Office of the Guangdong People’s Government & Vice Director of the Reception Department under the Provincial Preparation Commission Office, Mr. Zhuang Lecong, Director of the Civil Explosion Section of Guangdong Economic and Trade Commission & Director of the Financial Department under the Provincial Preparation Commission Office, and Mr. Luo Kui, Vice Director of the Office of Rectification and Standardization of Market Economic Order in Guangdong and Vice Director of the Safety and Protection Department under the Provincial Preparation Commission Office also attended the meeting.

The 6th China International SME Fair (the 6th CISMEF), jointly hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the China Banking Regulatory Commission and the People's Government of Guangdong Province of the People’s Republic of China, together with the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Kingdom of Spain, is scheduled to be held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, from 22nd to 25th September, 2009.

With an exhibition floor space totaling over 100,000 sq m, the 6th CISMEF expects to bring some 4,000 Chinese and overseas exhibitors. The Chinese exhibitors shall represent their markets respectively from 34 provinces alike in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Industry exhibition areas cover electronics & IT products, household appliances, mechanical equipment, energy & environment products, consumption goods and buiding materials. Three exhibition halls are set for overseas exhibitors, namely the Spanish Hall, the International Hall, and the Hall for Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan. The number of visits is estimated to be over 200,000.

The 6th CISMEF aims at building up a platform for SMEs in China and the world at large to display, exchange, trade and cooperate. It is so far the largest international exposition targeted at SMEs.

As the co-host country, the Kingdom of Spain will bring to the event enterprises from sectors as follows, biotech, machine tools, components and industrial materials, IT, agricultural products, energy, climate change and environment, tourism, franchising, engineering and architecture, and education, showcasing the country’s modernization, advanced technology and unique culture.
